Skit maker, Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr. Macaroni has called out leaders in the National Assembly for their lavish lifestyles despite Nigerians living in horrible and awful conditions.
According to Macaroni, while Nigerians are suffering in severe poverty, the politicians are sending money to themselves to take vacations.
This is coming after a video of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, making a comment over monies sent to his colleagues for their annual recess during a plenary session went viral.
According to Akpabio, “a token has been sent to their various accounts to enable them to enjoy their holiday”.
In a post on his social media platform on Wednesday, the social activist questioned why poor Nigerians have to pay for the luxurious lifestyle of their leaders.
His post reads in part: “These are the leaders that have asked struggling Nigerians to make sacrifices if they want things to work in the country. So while Nigerians are going through unbearable hardship, our leaders are sending money to themselves to enjoy holidays.
“Who are those that should be making sacrifices if not for our leaders?
“Do our leaders understand that leadership is about service, selfishness and sacrifice??
“Why do the poor people of Nigeria have to pay for the luxurious lifestyle of the leaders?? Why??? This isn’t leadership!!!”
Meanwhile, Nigerians have since taken to their different social media accounts to express their displeasure about the situation of things in Nigeria, especially the leadership.
