The Rapid Response Squad (RRS), a division of the Lagos State Police command has said its personnel from Olusosun and Ojota areas of the state, rescued two robbery victims during a Thursday raid at a notorious criminal hideout in the state.
The Saturday statement by the squad also reveals that 10 out of the 26 suspects arrested at some uncompleted buildings around the Otedola bridge will be charged to court for prosecution.
The statement reads:
“Around 11:38 p.m. on Thursday, operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) combing Olusosun, Ojota, uncompleted buildings in Otedola Bridge and Kurata, all notorious for being criminals den, arrested 26 suspects and rescued two robbery victims in MKO Garden, Ojota.
“The arrest is sequel to the directive of Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade to Commander RRS, CSP Yinka Egbeyemi to step up surveillance and arrest criminals in some black spots within the metropolis.
“After a thorough screening of the suspects by CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, 16 persons were released to their relatives, while 10 suspects are to be charged to court for prosecution.
“The Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi had three weeks ago assured that the squad would up and sustain its surveillance of the metropolis while also taking the fight to the criminals in their hideouts.”
