The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has granted Air Algerie, Algeria’s national airline, a foreign carrier operating permit (FCOP), paving the way for improved air connectivity between Nigeria and Algeria.
The permit was presented during a meeting between Chris Najomo, director-general of the NCAA, and Hocine Mezoued, the ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.
The discussion focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the aviation sector.
The NCAA announced that the permit enables Air Algerie to operate flights to Nigeria, with a new route connecting Algeria-Nigeria-Douala, Cameroon.
The inaugural flight on this route is scheduled to commence on April 6, marking a significant milestone in strengthening ties and improving air travel between the two nations.
