Ben Bruce dumps PDP, joins APC — Hails Tinubu as ‘courageous reformer’

Former Bayelsa East Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and economic reforms.

In a statement titled “Senator Ben Murray-Bruce’s Profound Defection Speech,” the businessman and politician praised President Tinubu as a visionary leader with deep understanding of finance and governance.

“I have known President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu since 1998. He is not driven by applause; he is driven by results. And today, I can boldly say he is on the right track,” Murray-Bruce said.

He commended the administration’s economic direction, describing the ongoing reforms as “the painful foundation of tomorrow’s prosperity.”

“For the first time, we have a President who truly understands finance — one who sees the economy not as a slogan but as a living organism that must be disciplined, deregulated, and allowed to breathe,” he stated.

The former senator lauded Tinubu’s restructuring of national security, the Central Bank’s stabilization measures, and deregulation of the fuel market, asserting that “the world is watching Nigeria rise again.”

He also highlighted the administration’s infrastructural progress — from roads to ports, airports, and housing — saying these developments are “the arteries through which growth and opportunity now flow.”

Acknowledging the current hardship facing Nigerians, Murray-Bruce said true reform requires sacrifice but assured that Tinubu’s long-term vision would yield “phenomenal growth” before the end of his eight-year tenure.

“Today, I am joining the APC, not for politics, but for progress,” he declared. “I choose to stand with reform. I choose to stand with the future.”
