Breaking: Soludo wins Anambra governorship election, sweeps all 21 LGAs in landslide victory

The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has emerged victorious in the Anambra State governorship election, winning in all 21 local government areas of the state in a landslide.

The announcement of results began around midnight on Sunday and continued until about 6 a.m. under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie. The process was witnessed by other INEC officials, party agents, and journalists.

According to the results announced by the returning officers from the 21 LGAs, APGA’s Soludo secured a commanding total of 422,664 votes, while his closest rival from the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 99,445 votes. The Labour Party (LP) followed with 10,505 votes, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) trailed with 1,401 votes.

Although an official declaration by INEC is still awaited pending final collation and confirmation, Soludo’s clean sweep across all 21 LGAs has effectively sealed his victory, reaffirming APGA’s dominance in the state’s political landscape.
