Tinubu appoints Uzodimma as renewed hope ambassador, DG for APC outreach

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State as the Renewed Hope Ambassador ahead of the national launch of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme.

According to a State House statement issued on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Uzodimma will also serve as Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement and Mobilisation.

Under the new role, which takes immediate effect, the Imo governor will work closely with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and fellow governors to promote the policies and achievements of the Tinubu administration. The president expects Uzodimma to harmonise party structures, deepen inclusiveness and drive strategic mobilisation across all levels.

“As Renewed Hope Ambassador, Governor Uzodimma will ensure harmony, inclusiveness and strategic coordination across the party, while engaging Nigerians on the administration’s progress,” the statement said.

Other APC governors will serve as Ambassadors of Hope, collaborating with Uzodimma to spread the Renewed Hope message nationwide.

The presidency highlighted several reforms and economic gains recorded since Tinubu assumed office in May 2023, including a steady decline in inflation to 16.05 percent in October, stabilised exchange rates, and an increase in foreign reserves to over $46 billion—up from the $32 billion and net $4 billion reserve position in 2023.

It also noted rising investor confidence, a booming stock market, and increased investments in oil, gas and solid minerals. The government’s student loan initiative has so far enrolled more than 700,000 beneficiaries, while passport issuance timelines have improved to under one week.

President Tinubu charged Uzodimma to ensure Nigerians fully understand the administration’s achievements and ongoing reforms as part of the broader Renewed Hope agenda.
