Wike approves promotion of over 2,000 FCTA, FCDA staff

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the immediate promotion of more than 2,000 workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).

The promotions followed examinations conducted between Tuesday, November 25, and Saturday, November 29, 2025.

Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, disclosed on Wednesday that the promoted officers cut across 165 different cadres in the FCT civil service.

He described the exercise as a clear demonstration of the minister’s commitment to staff welfare and career advancement, assuring that promotion examinations would henceforth be held as and when due.

Ezeh urged civil servants to begin early preparation for the 2025 and 2026 promotion exercises, stressing that only diligent and hardworking officers would be promoted.

He further reiterated the commission’s commitment to the continued use of Computer-Based Tests (CBT) for promotion examinations, noting that the initiative would strengthen the digital promotion platform recently approved by the FCT Minister.
