A disturbing video showing the brutal assault of a student at Igbinedion Education Centre has sparked outrage across social media, prompting swift disciplinary action by the school and an investigation by authorities.

The video, which circulated widely online between March 13 and 14, 2026, shows a younger student being violently attacked by fellow students on the school premises in , .

In the footage, a senior student repeatedly flogged the victim with a belt while the boy lay helpless on the ground. Another student was seen kicking the victim and jumping on his ribs as he cried out in pain. The attackers allegedly ignored pleas from someone nearby who urged them to stop.

At one point, the victim was dragged along the ground, stomped on the chest and beaten while crying. A third student recorded the incident on a mobile phone, and the footage later surfaced on social media, triggering widespread condemnation.

School Reacts

In response to the incident, the management of Igbinedion Education Centre announced that two students identified as the attackers had been expelled with immediate effect.

The school reiterated that it operates a “zero-tolerance policy” against bullying, cultism, intimidation and any form of violence.
