The Federal Government has introduced a new consumer credit initiative, “Fly Now, Pay Later,” aimed at making domestic air travel more affordable and accessible for Nigerians.
The scheme, unveiled by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation, allows eligible passengers to book local flights immediately and spread payments over time through structured financing.
According to CREDICORP, the initiative is designed to ease the burden of upfront ticket costs, which often prevent many Nigerians from making urgent or essential trips.
The programme is being implemented in partnership with MyVisaro and Alert Microfinance Bank, as part of broader efforts to expand access to responsible consumer credit.
Interested applicants can access the service by visiting the Visaro platform to book flights to destinations across Nigeria.
CREDICORP noted that the initiative aligns with its mission to promote financial inclusion and improve access to essential services through innovative credit solutions.
The move comes amid rising domestic airfares, driven by increasing aviation fuel costs, foreign exchange challenges, and operational expenses. During the 2025 festive season, ticket prices on some routes surged by as much as 150 per cent, with one-way fares exceeding ₦300,000.
