He made the remark during a state banquet held in honour of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, who are currently on a two-day visit to the United Kingdom.

Speaking at the event, the monarch also commended Nigerians living in the UK for their remarkable contributions across sectors such as business, technology, healthcare, education, and the arts. He noted that many Nigerians have become integral to British society, excelling in key institutions.

King Charles further revealed that he recently hosted a group of Nigerians at St James’s Palace for a “Jollof and Tea” gathering, describing them as vibrant and impactful members of the community.

In a gesture that drew applause, the monarch greeted guests in Yoruba, warmly welcoming the Nigerian delegation.

Raising a toast, he extended goodwill to Nigerians and Muslims observing the season, concluding with a popular phrase: “Naija no dey carry last.”
