Convention: PDP re-elects Mohammed, Anyanwu, others as PDP leaders

Abdulrahman Mohammed and Samuel Anyanwu have been re-elected as key leaders of a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party following a national convention held on Sunday.

The exercise, backed by allies of Nyesom Wike, saw over 2,000 delegates from across Nigeria’s 36 states and the FCT endorse a 22-member National Working Committee (NWC) through a consensus arrangement.

Other members of the NWC include Aaron Chukwuemeka (Deputy National Chairman, South), Yusuf Akirikwen (Deputy National Chairman, North), and Kolawale Olabisi (Deputy National Secretary).

Also elected are Opeyemi Oladiran (National Treasurer), Lado Marke (Deputy National Treasurer), Eyim Henry (National Financial Secretary), and Grema Kyari (Deputy National Financial Secretary).

In the organising unit, Umar Bature emerged as National Organising Secretary, with Efere Augustine as deputy. For publicity, Jungudo Mohammed was elected alongside Egwu Chidiebere.

The legal team includes Kamaldeen Ajibade as National Legal Adviser and Aloysius Uba as deputy.

For oversight roles, Osuoha Donatus and Adaba Yatu were elected as National Auditor and Deputy National Auditor respectively.

In party inclusion roles, Ogunshe Adedayo emerged as National Women Leader, with Hauwa Shinge as deputy. Ibrahim Aboki was elected National Youth Leader, alongside Eugene Momoh-Dejih.

The newly constituted NWC is expected to steer the party’s affairs for the next four years, with a focus on reconciliation and repositioning the PDP amid ongoing internal divisions.
