House of Representatives hopeful for Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, Hon. Rasheed Kashamu, on Monday, paid a consultative visit to the leadership of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) in Ogun Waterside Local Government, where he received a warm and reassuring welcome from party stakeholders.
The visit began with a courtesy stop at the residence of the leading political figure in the local government, Asiwaju Dele Odulaja, where he held a closed-door meeting that centred on party unity, youth empowerment and stronger federal representation for the constituency. He also met other notable leaders who expressed confidence in his political capacity and commitment to service.
Hon. Rasheed Kashamu later proceeded to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat in Ogun Waterside, where he addressed the ward and local government executives. He was received with enthusiasm and solidarity by party members who described his visit as timely and strategic ahead of the party’s primary elections.
While speaking at the Secretariat, several leaders reflected on the towering political legacy of his late father, Senator Prince Buruji Kashamu, noting that the philanthropic spirit, accessibility and grassroots connection of the late statesman remain unmatched in Ogun politics. They expressed optimism that Hon. Rasheed Kashamu possesses the vision and capacity to surpass his father’s accomplishments, especially with his youthful energy and modern political exposure.
Among those present were the APC Chairman in the local government, Mr. Abiola Logere; the women leader of the party, Alhaja Ganiyat Busari; and the Vice Chairman of the local government, Mrs. Ogunlana. Ward executives across the local government were also in attendance, lending full representation to the parley.
In his remarks, Hon. Kashamu thanked the party leaders for the warm reception and reiterated his commitment to delivering effective, people-centered representation if elected. He emphasized his agenda, which includes attracting federal projects to underserved communities, enhancing agricultural development in Ogun Waterside, tackling unemployment and deepening youth and women empowerment.
He assured stakeholders that his aspiration is driven not by personal ambition but by the desire to consolidate the legacy of service, bridge developmental gaps and restore quality leadership across the federal constituency.
The consultative visit is one of several engagements lined up by Hon. Rasheed Kashamu, as he continues to meet with key political actors, ward executives, community leaders and delegates across Ijebu North, Ijebu East, and Ogun Waterside ahead of the forthcoming elections.
