The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has adjusted its 2027 election timetable, moving the party’s presidential primary from May 15 to May 23.
The update was announced in Abuja by Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, following the party’s 186th NWC meeting. He said the revision aligns with the amended constitution, the 2026 Electoral Act, and guidelines issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the new schedule, the sale of nomination forms will run from April 25 to May 2, while submission closes on May 4. Screening of aspirants is set for May 6 to May 9, with presidential screening slated for May 9. Results across all categories will be released on May 11.
Meseko emphasized that the nomination process remains open to all qualified party members nationwide. He also noted that the party will adopt either direct primaries or consensus arrangements, in line with electoral laws. However, where consensus fails, the party will default to direct primaries.
He added that the revised timetable has been formally communicated to INEC, reaffirming the party’s readiness for the 2027 elections.
