Obafemi Hamzat, deputy governor of Lagos State, has emerged as the APC governorship candidate for the 2027 election after winning the party’s primary with a landslide victory.

Announcing the results on Thursday, the APC primary committee said Dr Hamzat secured 657,917 votes out of 657,974 votes cast, defeating his only challenger, Lanre Jim-Kamal, who polled one vote.

In his acceptance speech, Hamzat unveiled a development agenda tagged “My Lagos Dream,” promising people-focused governance centred on job creation, infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, and economic growth.

He pledged to continue the developmental policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and past APC administrations in Lagos, while assuring residents that ordinary citizens and business owners alike would benefit from his administration if elected governor in 2027.
