The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of candidates contesting in the June 20, 2026, bye-elections scheduled to hold across several senatorial districts, a federal constituency, and a state assembly constituency.
According to the list released by the electoral body, political parties have fielded candidates for the vacant seats in Ondo, Nasarawa, Rivers, Enugu, Kebbi, and Kano states.
For the Ondo South Senatorial District election, four candidates will contest for the seat. They are Adesanya Olaoluwa of the APP, Faduyile Francis Adedayo of the APC, Akinwumi Adeolu Harrison of the APM, and Nejo Funso Clement of the BP.
In the Nasarawa North Senatorial District, the APC is fielding Halilu Danladi Envwulu-Aza, while the Labour Party (LP) has nominated Maku Labaran. The NNPP candidate is John Paul Araneshri, while the PDP will be represented by Emmanuel David Ombugadu.
For the Rivers South East Senatorial District seat, the Action Alliance (AA) has nominated Douglas Fabeeke Beeka. The APC candidate is Osarosaka Ebenezer Erewari, while the LP is fielding Sam Kinanee Barikpoa. The PDP candidate is Nwogu Olaka Johnson.
In Enugu North Senatorial District, voters will choose among Asogwa Ikeje Israel of the APC, Aneke Kingsley Chukwuebuka of the BP, and Ezeme Nestor Chika of the PDP.
For the Zuru State Constituency seat in the Kebbi State House of Assembly, the APC has presented Garba Aiki Rabiu, while the LP candidate is Aliyu Galadima Muhammad.
Meanwhile, three candidates will contest the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency seat in Kano State. They are Rabiu Shuaibu of the APC, Lawan Garba Haruna of the APM, and Abubakar Yahaya Muhammad of the LP.
The bye-elections are scheduled to take place on June 20, 2026, to fill vacant legislative seats across the affected constituencies.
