Wike’ll be remembered like Zik, Awolowo, Sardauna – Abuja monarch

The Aguma of Gwagwalada, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammadu Magaji, has declared that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, will be remembered in Nigeria’s history alongside prominent national figures such as Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

Magaji said Wike’s contributions to infrastructure development in the FCT, particularly the revival and completion of the Gwagwalada Civic Centre after more than 16 years of abandonment, had demonstrated his commitment to improving the lives of residents.

The traditional ruler spoke on Monday during the commissioning of the Gwagwalada Civic Centre and an interactive session with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gwagwalada Area Council, Abuja.

He commended the minister for directing the resumption of work on abandoned projects across the FCT, noting that Gwagwalada had benefited significantly from his determination to complete inherited infrastructure projects.

According to Magaji, the completion of the Civic Centre represents a major milestone for the area council and a lasting legacy for its residents, irrespective of their political affiliations.

He also praised the gathering of APC and PDP leaders at the event, describing their convergence as a demonstration that political differences could be set aside in the interest of peace, unity and development.

The monarch said the Rainbow Coalition had provided an opportunity for politicians from opposing camps to work together, expressing hope that the emerging cooperation would translate into greater development for Gwagwalada and the wider FCT.

He urged residents and political stakeholders to sustain the spirit of unity and support initiatives aimed at accelerating development across the territory.
