Akpabio leads Ojukwu, Kukah other Nigerian delegates to Pope Francis’ funeral

Senate President Godswill Akpabio will lead a five-member delegation to Vatican City to attend the funeral of Pope Francis on April 26. The delegation is headed to formally deliver a letter conveying President Bola Tinubu’s sympathy and condolences to the Acting Head of the Vatican.

Delegation Members
The delegation includes:

  1. Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu
  2. Archbishop Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji, President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria
  3. Archbishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, Archbishop of Sokoto Diocese
  4. Archbishop Ignatius Ayua Kaigama, Archbishop of Abuja Diocese

President Tinubu’s Condolence Message
President Tinubu described Pope Francis as “a humble servant of God, a tireless champion of the poor, and a guiding light for millions.”
