The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has hailed the State Government for attracting $25 million foreign investments in the last one year.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abeokuta, the state capital, by the State Publicity Secretary, Tunde Oladunjoye, the party said, “The recognition of Ogun State by Statisense, a pioneering AI data company as one of the top five leading states in Nigeria to have attracted huge foreign investments in the last one year is highly commendable and recommendable.
“Specifically, the report listed Ogun State as the fifth state to have attracted the highest amount of foreign investments in Nigeria between June 2023 and June 2024.
“Within the period, our dear state attracted $25 million foreign investments, ahead of oil-rich Rivers State ($6.00 million) and others.
“Our dear state is in the same league with others like Lagos ($5.95 billion), FCT ($2.59billion), Abia ($150.09 million), Akwa Ibom ($33.95 million) which attracted huge foreign investments within the period.
“We reckon that this commendable and recommendable feat would not have been possible without the leadership, foresight and uncommon business acumen of our focused Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON.
“It is for this reason that we wish to commend Mr. Governor and his team for the excellent work they are doing in attracting both local and foreign investments and making Ogun State a true economic and industrial hub, and an investors destination of choice “.
The party urged the Abiodun-led State Government not to rest on its oars but to remain focused, adding that, “as it is said, the reward for a job well done is more work”.
