Following a “seasonal illness,” the Queen Consort Camilla has postponed a Tuesday visit to the West Midlands.
The illness’s precise cause is unknown, according to a statement from Buckingham Royal, but palace staff members classified it as “seasonal.”
According to reports, Camilla had many engagements scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday) including a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Elmhurst Ballet School in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
She was scheduled to pay a visit to the Southwater One Library in Telford to thank the staff and volunteers and outreach group members for their service to the neighborhood.
A representative for Buckingham Palace stated that a new date for the cancelled festivities was planned and be announced soon.
Later this week, Camilla has other engagements scheduled, and the spokesman expressed hope that she will be well enough to make a visit on Wednesday.
The Queen Consort recently traveled to Aberdeen and the Welsh town of Wrexham for events as part of a busy schedule of engagements across the UK.
Last Thursday, she paid a visit to the Storm Family Centre, a local organization that assists victims of domestic abuse in Battersea, south London.
She said she felt “extremely privileged and honored” to have visited the center during an unscheduled, brief address at the engagement.
The day before, Camilla and her husband King Charles visited Brick Lane in London and interacted with the local Bangladeshi community.
The pair even got takeout from a south Asian restaurant to bring home.
