‘Enough is enough’ – Tinubu orders overhaul of national security strategies

President Bola Tinubu has directed a comprehensive overhaul of national security strategies to end the escalating violence in Borno, Benue, Plateau, and Kwara states.

The President made the declaration during a meeting with security chiefs at the State House in Abuja.

“Enough is Enough”
Tinubu condemned the senseless targeting of innocent Nigerians, saying “Enough is enough.” The National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, briefed the President on the attacks, death toll, and destruction of properties in the affected states.

New Approach to Tackling Insecurity
The NSA said President Tinubu ordered a new approach to tackling insecurity, emphasizing the need to involve local councils and state governments more in addressing security challenges. Ribadu noted that the President was “very worried and concerned” about the situation.

Collaboration with Governors
The President directed that security agencies work more closely with governors to restore peace and security in the country. Ribadu said the attackers usually target innocent citizens by planting Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and targeting ungoverned areas.
