NCAA blacklists K1 De Ultimate over airport security breach

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has blacklisted renowned Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, over an alleged security breach at a Nigerian airport.

As a result, the veteran performer has been barred from boarding any domestic flight within Nigeria for the next six months.

According to a preliminary report by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the incident occurred when K1 allegedly attempted to board a ValueJet flight while carrying an open container believed to contain alcohol. The report states that the musician’s actions led to a confrontation with airport security officials and the pilot, ultimately preventing him from boarding the aircraft.

FAAN further stated that the conduct violated standard aviation safety protocols, leading to K1’s indictment in the agency’s findings.

In a swift rebuttal, K1 De Ultimate denied the allegations, stating that he did not carry any alcoholic substance. A statement from his team clarified that the flask he was seen with contained only plain water, not alcohol, as claimed by FAAN.

The incident has stirred mixed reactions among fans and aviation stakeholders. While some have supported the disciplinary measure, others are calling for an impartial and transparent investigation to establish the facts and uphold professionalism within the aviation sector.
