The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking, seizing narcotics worth over ₦3.4 billion in Lagos and Port Harcourt.
Major Seizures
In a joint operation, NDLEA operatives intercepted 2 million pills of tafrodol and 163,000 bottles of codeine syrup at the Port Harcourt Ports Complex. In Lagos, 1.5 million pills of a controlled opioid were seized in the Alaba-Rago area.
Arrests and Seizures
Several suspects were arrested, including Monsurat Ewawunmi Lawson and Bobby Morris Osas, while attempting to smuggle drugs. The NDLEA also foiled attempts to smuggle drugs to Iraq and Italy.
