The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) says it has arrested two suspects in connection with the gruesome murder of a Chinese national, Mr. Chen Wang, who was killed at his workplace in Ogun State earlier this year.
In a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police disclosed that the suspects — identified as 25-year-old Yunusa Abdullahi from Borno State and 20-year-old Peace Keno Danlami from Taraba State — were apprehended in Jos, Plateau State, on July 14, 2025, following weeks of coordinated surveillance and intelligence gathering.
Mr. Wang, an employee of WH Great Resource Ltd. in Ogere, Ogun State, was found dead with stab wounds in his office on January 12, 2025. According to the police, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, both factory workers at the company and allegedly in a romantic relationship, exploited a low staff turnout on the day of the incident. While on overtime duty, they reportedly disabled the facility’s security system, broke into Mr. Wang’s office, and fatally attacked him.
The pair allegedly proceeded to steal the keys to the deceased’s residence, which they later burgled before fleeing Ogun State with stolen cash.
Acting on the orders of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, the Force Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) and the Ogun State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, launched a full-scale operation using digital forensics, biometric analysis, and human intelligence to track the fugitives.
Their efforts paid off when the suspects were found hiding in Jos under false identities.
The IGP commended the professionalism and persistence of the police operatives, emphasizing the Force’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property of all residents and foreign nationals in Nigeria through proactive and intelligence-led policing.
The suspects are currently in custody and will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigations.
