A lady has been found dead in a hotel in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command confirmed the tragic incident via a statement issued by its spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

Adeh stated that the FCT Commissioner of Police, Ajao Adewale, has ordered an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, which gained attention following a viral video showing the lady found unconscious in the hotel.

The police spokesperson revealed that the victim was discovered dead with her hands tied behind her in a hotel room located on 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa.

She detailed the preliminary findings, saying: “The individual, identified as Aladi Johnson, also known as Tessy, hails from Benue State and checked into the hotel on June 16 with an unidentified male companion, who was later seen leaving the premises alone.”

Hotel staff found the victim unconscious during routine service rounds, leading to immediate notification of the authorities. She was confirmed dead upon medical evaluation.

“While the investigation is ongoing, the CP has urged the public to remain calm and allow the Police to perform a comprehensive inquiry,” Adeh concluded.
