President Bola Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to Vice President Kashim Shettima on the occasion of his 59th birthday, describing him as a dependable partner, loyal deputy, and exemplary public servant.

In a statement issued from the State House on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, President Tinubu lauded Shettima’s courage, sense of duty, and unwavering belief in Nigeria’s greatness.

“Since we embarked on this journey, united by the shared vision of building a more prosperous nation, your courage, sense of duty, tenacity, determination, and belief in Nigeria’s greatness have remained unshaken,” the President said.

The President highlighted Shettima’s record of service to Borno State as governor for eight years and later as senator representing Borno Central, noting that he demonstrated leadership as service, even under immense challenges.

Tinubu praised the Vice President’s loyalty and vibrancy, stressing that his choice of Shettima as running mate was based on competence and qualities Nigeria could trust. “Every day, as Vice President, you have justified that choice by strengthening our work, bringing fresh perspectives, and upholding our commitment to Nigerians,” he added.

Reflecting on their joint efforts in government, Tinubu credited Shettima’s partnership with helping to drive key aspects of the Renewed Hope Agenda, including global partnerships, food security, and investment reforms. He expressed confidence that their collaboration would continue to deliver results in education, healthcare, trade, and job creation.
