A student heading to his West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) centre was allegedly killed by a stray bullet fired by a police officer in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Incident Details
The incident occurred on Gbagi market road in the Egbeda Local Government Area when the police officer was pursuing a suspect. The student, who was riding a motorcycle with his father and twin brother, was hit by the stray bullet and pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.

Protests and Demands
Irate youths took the student’s lifeless body to the state Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, to demand justice and called on Governor Seyi Makinde to intervene.
