The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Anambra State, has expelled, a 300-level History and International Relations student, Precious Chiamaka Goddy-Mbakwe.

Precious was seen in a viral video biting a lecturer in the Theatre Arts department, Dr Chukwudi Okoye.

Following the nationwide notoriety the altercation caused, the university instituted an investigation into the incident between the lecturer and student.

The incident occurred at the Department of Theatre Arts and Film Studies.

According to the footage circulating on social media, Precious was filming a TikTok video in a university corridor when Dr Okoye walked past her.

He tapped her on the shoulder, reportedly asking her to give way.

However, the student, angered by the perceived interruption, allegedly retaliated by grabbing the lecturer’s shirt and engaging in a physical scuffle.

The video further showed Precious biting Dr Okoye on the wrist and arm while he remained composed despite the provocation.

On Friday, in a statement signed by the school’s registrar, Victor Modebelu, the school said it has accepted the recommendation of its probe committee which recommended the expulsion of the student.
