Afrobeats music star Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun better known as WizKid has been named as one of the artistes who will be performing on the soundtrack of the new marvel movie, ‘Across the Spider-Verse’.

American platinum music producer, Metro Boomin made this known via his Twitter account.

“Wizkid is confirmed for the @SpiderVerse(link is external) soundtrack available everywhere [from] 2 June,” Metro Boomin wrote.

The expected follow-up of the very successful Spider-Verse comes after the 2018 release of the movie which grossed over $380m in cinemas worldwide.

WizKid would be featured in the Marvel franchise soundtrack alongside artistes like Swan Lee, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Lil Wayne, Nas, Lil Uzi Vert, JID and a few others.

Recall that a number of Nigerian Afrobeats musicians have also been featured in some of Marvel’s productions. In 2022, on the soundtrack album of Black Phanther: Wakanda Forever, Burna Boy, Rema, Tems, Fireboy DML and Busiswa were all featured.
