26-year-old Adedamola Ayinla Timothy, a student of Lagos State University (LASU), and two others have reportedly lost their lives in a tragic automobile accident on the Sagamu-Benin expressway.
A Lexus SUV, a Geon lorry, and a Toyota Sienna were involved in the crash.
Confirming the event to reporters on Wednesday in Abeokuta, Omolola Odutola, the public relations officer for the Ogun State Police Command, said that the accident happened around 6:45 am on the highway before the Babcock University intersection.
According to Odutola, the accident was a result of the Lexus driver’s careless driving.
Explaining the incident, she said that the driver of the Lexus car drove carelessly and crashed into the moving truck, causing the Lexus to tumble and result in the fatal incident.
She further said that the Sienna also rammed into the Lexus, trapping the car and the passengers inside.
The PPRO added that the LASU student, Ademola Ayinla Timothy, was saved and taken to the hospital but he did not survive.
All affected and wrecked vehicles have also been moved to the station.
