Popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye also known as Bobrisky, has knocked his colleagues who were arrested in Delta State for cross dressing.
The crossdressers, whose names were not released, were arrested by the police in Asaba, the state capital, on Tuesday, August 29. They were reportedly picked up from a hotel where they were attending a party said to be a gay wedding.
Bobrisky, who is one of the most popular crossdressers in Nigeria, took to his Instagram page on Wednesday morning to react to the news of the arrests. He said that the crossdressers deserved to be arrested because they were “disgracing the community.”
He wrote: “Hey guys !!! I want to quickly address those set of guys who were arrested in Delta.
“You see this class is not meant for everyone. But I strongly believe you can learn from those A-list.
“First, there’s a law passed against you guys that you can’t marry yourselves in this country, why the hell did you all call yourself together to organise a wedding?
“That’s the dumbest news have read this week. You all deserve how you all were treated, sad truth.
“If you feel you are in love with your partner and you want to be together, why not relocate to where you are welcome?”, the post read.
Recall that in 2014, President Goodluck Jonathan, signed the anti-LGBTQ bill into law which imposes a 10-year prison sentence on anyone who “registers, operates, or participates in gay clubs, societies, and organisations,” including allies of these groups.
