Nigerian emerges first black woman PhD holder in computer science and engineering from US varsity

Frances Nkiru Osamor, a US based Nigerian woman has become the first black woman to graduate with her PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of the District of Columbia (UDC).

As part of celebrating her accomplishment, she will soon publish her book titled “Impossible is Nothing”.

Speaking on the development, Dr Osamor states, “Now, as a black woman doctor in the field of computer science and engineering, I am committed to ensuring that our voices are heard, our contributions are recognized, and our representation in technology is given the utmost respect. I will strive to make a difference and pave the way for future generations, inspiring and empowering others along the way.

“Together, we can shape a future where diversity and inclusivity thrive in the world of technology.”
