Just In: Tinubu holds emergency security meeting, orders decisive action to protect citizens

President Bola Tinubu convened an extended high-level security meeting on Sunday at the State House, bringing together the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), and heads of the country’s intelligence agencies to assess the security situation across Nigeria.

According to the President, the meeting focused on reviewing the latest field reports and implementing urgent measures aimed at stabilising affected communities following recent attacks in parts of the country. He said he has been receiving continuous briefings and has directed all security agencies to act with “speed, precision, and absolute resolve.”

Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians, warning that those responsible for disturbing the nation’s peace “will face the full weight of the law.”

“As President, I am fully committed to the security of all Nigerians,” he stated. “Nigeria will prevail.”

The emergency meeting comes amid heightened security concerns, with federal agencies intensifying coordinated operations to curb banditry, terrorism, and other threats nationwide.
