Ekiti poll: PDP candidate alleges voter suppression, security intimidation

The PDP governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Wole Oluyede, has raised concerns over alleged voter suppression and intimidation by security operatives during Saturday’s governorship election.

Speaking after casting his vote in Ikere LGA, Oluyede questioned the slow pace of accreditation and voting, noting that only a handful of voters had been processed after more than an hour. He also alleged technical glitches and delays in getting INEC officials to address the issues.

The PDP candidate further accused security personnel of harassing voters and party supporters in parts of Ikere, describing the situation as “sad for democracy.” Despite the challenges, he expressed confidence that voters would remain peaceful and resilient throughout the exercise.
