President Bola Tinubu is expected to participate in All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rallies in 12 states ahead of the 2027 general election, according to the party’s campaign timetable released on Thursday.
The president’s campaign tour will begin in Kaduna on October 24, followed by rallies in Rivers on November 7, Plateau on November 14 and Oyo on November 21.
Other scheduled appearances in November include Borno on November 25, Enugu on November 28 and Bauchi on November 29.
Tinubu will continue the tour in December, with planned rallies in Sokoto on December 5, Delta on December 12 and Kano on December 17.
The president is also scheduled to campaign in Adamawa on January 4, 2027, and Lagos on January 9, marking the final two rallies listed for his personal attendance.
Under the timetable, APC leaders will represent the president at rallies in other states where he is not scheduled to appear. These include Cross River, Gombe, Nasarawa, Ekiti, Ebonyi, Jigawa, Ondo, Edo, Yobe, Kebbi, Akwa Ibom, Anambra and Benue, among others.
Overall, Tinubu is expected to visit 12 of Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory as part of the campaign.
Some of the states on his itinerary have political significance ahead of the election. Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde is identified in the report as the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), while the APM is also the ruling party in Bauchi. Adamawa, another state on Tinubu’s schedule, is the home state of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, who is identified as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate.
Speaking at the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, Tinubu said he would not attend every campaign rally because governance remained a priority.
He nevertheless pledged to engage directly with Nigerians during the campaign as party leaders visit states and local government areas to canvass support for his re-election.
The APC had earlier announced an expanded membership of its presidential campaign council, including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke and Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
The party is expected to rely on its campaign council and other senior members to coordinate mobilisation and outreach across the country as the 2027 election approaches.
