Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi have formally submitted their presidential nomination forms at the national secretariat of the African Democratic Congress in Abuja ahead of the 2027 elections.
Atiku described his ambition as a national movement aimed at restoring prosperity and rebuilding Nigeria, urging citizens across ethnic and religious lines to support the ADC’s vision for change.
Amaechi, meanwhile, said the 2027 election should be based on competence, performance and experience rather than ethnic sentiments. He promised to transform the country within four years if elected, while criticising the economic hardship under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The former Rivers governor also argued that Nigerians should judge candidates based on their track records in public office, insisting he has the experience and capacity to defeat the incumbent government in 2027.
