President Bola Tinubu has received the remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Airport in Katsina.

Tinubu arrived at the airport shortly before the presidential jet carrying the late former leader’s body touched down from London.

Buhari’s remains were accompanied by his widow, Mrs Aisha Buhari, Vice President Kashim Shettima and close members of the Buhari family.

Airport ceremonies including a military parade have been concluded as the journey to Daura begins. A motorcade including the hearse bearing the ex-president’s remains have left the airport for Daura.
