Defence minister orders service chiefs to review operations in North-West, North-East

Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has directed the nation’s service chiefs to visit the North-West and North-East to reassess and strengthen ongoing military operations in the regions.

The directive was issued on Wednesday during a meeting at the Ministry of Defence, where the minister met with the service chiefs to review the prevailing security situation in the affected zones.

According to Timothy Antigha, media adviser to the minister, the service chiefs have been tasked with undertaking on-the-ground assessments and are expected to submit their findings and recommendations after the visits.

The move comes amid renewed security concerns in the two geopolitical zones, where terrorist groups have carried out a series of attacks in recent weeks.

Several military formations have reportedly been targeted, with casualties recorded among security personnel.

The planned visits are aimed at reviewing current strategies and identifying measures to strengthen military operations against insurgent and terrorist groups operating in the regions.
