The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has removed its Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Benjamin Hundeyin, barely six months after his appointment.
The decision, approved on Thursday, March 5, 2026, is part of ongoing restructuring within the police hierarchy.
Sources within the force said the move followed recent leadership changes after President Bola Tinubu inaugurated Tunji Disu as the substantive Inspector-General of Police (IGP), less than 24 hours earlier.
Disu was appointed last week as the 23rd IGP following the removal of Kayode Egbetokun, who had served in the position since 2023.
A senior police source confirmed that Hundeyin’s removal was effected on Thursday morning.
“The Force Public Relations Officer has been removed this morning,” the source said.
As of the time of filing this report, police authorities have yet to issue an official statement explaining the decision, and it remains unclear who will be appointed as the new Force PRO.
