| Defectors to reach 500 by Monday
The Edo State chapter of the m Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may be wondering what calamity has befallen them. At the rate they are going, the party may be on the brink of total collapse in the next few weeks. From Owan to Akoko Edo, Etsako East, West and Central to Uromi, Irrua, Oredo, and Ikpoba Okha, PDP members are fleeing the party in droves.
It is alleged that incompetence and neglect by the PDP administration in the state are driving people away in despair, much like the Egyptians fleeing from the plague in the Bible. Just as the Egyptians urged the Israelites to leave to avoid further suffering (Exodus 12:29-33), the people of Edo are desperate for a change to escape the ruinous policies of the PDP.
In the last 48 hours alone, over 200 PDP members have defected to the APC, and this number is expected to reach 500 within the next 24 hours. This mass exodus is a sad tale that speaks volumes about the PDP’s failure to deliver on their promises and their inability to govern effectively.
Take a look at some of this pictorial evidence and tell us what you think. The images of defection meetings and the testimonies of former PDP members paint a vivid picture of a party in freefall. The people of Edo State are making their voices heard loud and clear: they have had enough of the PDP’s incompetence, neglect, and failed policies.
The defection wave is sweeping across the state, and it shows no signs of slowing down. This mass departure is not just a rejection of the PDP; it is a clear endorsement of the APC’s vision for a better, more prosperous Edo State.
