Lady Jane Udewo Amaechi Nnamani, wife of former Senate President, Chief Ken Nnamani, is dead.
The mother of four who is reportedly in her early 60s, died on Thursday at the National Orthopedic Hospital, Enugu, from complications arising from surgery.
Highly dependable sources in Abuja and Enugu told Newspread that the “minor” surgery alluded to by her family members was a tummy-tuck cosmetic procedure.
A source close to the family who wishes to remain anonymous told Newspread that most of her family members only became aware of the surgery after her death. This situation is already causing a crisis within the Nnamani clan.
The source said her children, mostly overseas and even her last daughter who is in Enugu were not aware that their mother had any health challenge or was going to the hospital for surgery till they were informed about her death.
Checks reveal that she was healthy and did not complain of any issue whatsoever. The late woman was said to be concluding her PhD programme in an Enugu university.
She reportedly went to the hospital for the surgery with just her house help and driver.
Her husband, Chief Nnamani who is overseas for medical treatment has not been informed of his wife’s death as such there is no official statement announcing her passing.
The source said: “It’s true she is dead but nobody in the family can announce her demise until her husband is aware and sees her body.
“Her male children are not in the country and her last daughter who is in Enugu doesn’t know how to go about breaking the news of their mother’s demise.”
