The Federal Government has introduced a new initiative to recognise and reward exceptional academic research across Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Ministry of Education’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, announced the launch of the Nigeria National Laureate Annual Prize Programme. The scheme will grant up to N20 million to students whose dissertations and theses show remarkable intellectual depth and strong commercial potential.

According to the statement, undergraduate winners will receive at least N5 million, master’s degree recipients will be awarded N10 million, while doctoral candidates will earn N20 million, along with national recognition for their scholarly achievements.
