Popular South African performer Costa Tsobanoglou, popularly known as Costa Titch, was mourned by his fans and family after he passed away while entertaining fans at the Ultra Music Festival on Saturday in Johannesburg.
Viral videos of the musician performing online show him falling over during the performance but continued after being lifted up by his security. But he sagged again and needed to be carried off the stage. However, late at night, news of his demise was released.

- Before beginning his own career as a rapper, Costa Titch first worked as a backup dancer.
- After entering the industry in 2020, he became an award-winning performer.
- The rising talent most recently signed a contract with Konvict Kulture, Akon’s record label.
- His songs “Activate” and “Nkalakatha,” were some of his popular hits among others.
- The late artist was 28 years old, according to his family
Tributes have flooded in for the young talent who aspired to achieve international success.
The family mourned in a statement, “death robbed us of our son”.
In the statement shared on his Instagram page on Sunday, Titch’s family wrote, “Death has tragically knocked at our door, robbing us of our beloved son, brother and grandson, Constantinos Tsobanoglou (28), who South Africa had come to love and idolise under his stage name ‘Costa Titch’.
“It is with deep pain that we find ourselves having to acknowledge his passing at this time.
“We are thankful for the emergency responders and all those present in his last hours on this earth. As a family we are faced with a difficult time as we try to make sense of what has befallen us and ask that we be afforded the time and space to gather ourselves.
“The Tsobanoglou family thanks you for the love and support you have given to our son and may you continue to uplift him even in spirit. Please keep us in your prayers and uplifted in the Lord.”
