Elder statesman and renowned business mogul, Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has passed away at the age of 93 following a prolonged illness. A family source confirmed that he died in the early hours of Saturday.
Born on May 19, 1931, Dantata was a significant figure in Nigeria’s business arena, with extensive investments in real estate, petroleum, and finance. In addition to his impressive business acumen, he was a dedicated philanthropist, particularly in the fields of education and youth empowerment.
Dantata’s influence extended beyond commerce; he served in the Kano State Government and played a pivotal role as a member of the Constitution Drafting Committee that formulated Nigeria’s 1979 Constitution.
