Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), the newly appointed Administrator of Rivers State, has arrived in the state to assume his duties.
Ibas, a former chief of naval statf landed at the Port Harcourt International Airport at 11:25 am on Thursday, where he was received by top officials and security personnel.
Accompanied by the state Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, and the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 16, Ibas proceeded to the Government House in Port Harcourt.
“Holds state security council meeting”
Upon arrival, he was conducted around the premises by government officials and is currently in a closed-door meeting with senior security officers, Federal Government delegation, and state government officials.
Ibas was sworn in by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, following the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.
As the former naval chief, Ibas brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
