Two women APC leaders have been kidnapped by bandits near the Manini flashpoint in the Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

According to Ishaq Kasai, the chairman of the Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union, who confirmed the incident, the two women leaders were taken hostage on the day of the new Kaduna governor’s inauguration.

He claimed that the two women were taken into the forest by the abductors.

The chairman added that several other victims were abducted besides the women leaders.

He listed Hajiya Lami Awarware and her assistant, Hajiya Haulatu Aliyu, as the two women leaders who had been kidnapped.

The chairman said that the kidnappers had not yet contacted them to demand ransom.

However,Mohammed Jalige, the Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer, has not officially confirmed the occurrence.
