How Natasha tried to frame Akpabio — US-based activist drops bombshell revelations

In a twist to the ongoing sexual harassment scandal involving President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio and Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, U.S.-based Nigerian activist and media scientist Dr. Sandra Duru, popularly known as Prof. Mgbeke, has come forward with explosive allegations that may upend the entire narrative.

During a live Facebook broadcast on Thursday, Duru shared what she described as irrefutable evidence of her private telephone chats and call logs with the embattled Senator Natasha, countering claims that the two had never previously communicated.

In the emotionally charged 68-minute broadcast, the activist alleged that Senator Natasha offered her N200 million to falsely implicate Senate President Akpabio in organ harvesting and the death of a young woman, Iniubong Umoren, who was murdered in 2021. Duru said Natasha turned to this new angle after her initial sexual harassment allegations failed to gain traction.

“One, there is no sexual harassment of any kind. Two, there is no evidence of organ harvesting,” Duru declared. “I told Natasha she is a pathological liar. She has disgraced Nigerians. She called Nigerians G and H — ‘Gullible and Hungry’ — and she wanted to add to their problems.”

According to Duru, Natasha confessed during their conversations that she had no evidence of harassment but was determined to force Akpabio to resign to pave the way for what she called the removal of the “Yoruba government.”

The activist further alleged that Natasha referred to her own allies, including respected activist Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, as “useful idiots” and expressed disappointment that media platforms like Arise TV had not performed as expected despite reported financial inducements.

“She is on a mission to destroy men,” Duru said. “She lacks humility, moral values, and is reckless in her utterances. If it doesn’t go her way, you become her enemy.”

Duru accused the senator of attempting to manipulate international bodies like the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the United Nations (UN) with false claims and of deleting incriminating messages from their chats—unaware they had already been archived.

In perhaps the most damning revelation, Duru claimed Natasha admitted the real target was not Akpabio, but the presidency itself, saying: “They don’t want the Yoruba government to go beyond four years.”

She called on the Nigerian Police Force and international security agencies to thoroughly investigate Natasha’s knowledge of Umoren’s murder and her motives behind the alleged smear campaign.

Duru, who says she has already submitted petitions to law enforcement and international watchdogs, vowed to release additional evidence, including audio recordings and chat screenshots that allegedly reveal Natasha’s private admissions contradicting her public accusations.

This latest development follows Natasha’s controversial “apology” to Akpabio—published in Punch on April 27—which Duru described as insincere and theatrical. “It was nothing more than a desperate attempt to avoid exposure,” she said.
