It first started with a plea a few weeks ago but today, it has become reality.

Popular Yoruba actress, Margaret Tobola Olayinka, better known as Iya Gbonkan is indeed very happy. She could hardly hide her excitement on Friday as she showcased her brand-new house.

In her enthusiasm, she said: “I haven’t been hungry all day because my joy knows no bounds, I never thought I could live in a good house.” – the 64-year-old thespian emotionally disclosed as she flaunted her new home.

Recall that in early June, a UK- based movie promoter, Omobolanle Olatise better known as Alexes gave Iya Gbonkan a car. She said she gifted the movie veteran the vehicle after she heard her passionate plea made online to well-wishers that she needed a vehicle to take her to movie locations and resources to help finish building her house. Alexes also hoped that the gift would motivate her to do more for the Nigeria movie industry and most especially, her fans.

While speaking on why she gave the actress the car, Olatise said: “I have been a fan of Iya Gbonkan for years and I believe, as she rightly said, we need to celebrate her while she is alive and that is why I surprised her with this car.

“She said she had been acting for years and she didn’t have a car, which I found unbelievable.”

Over the weeks, fans have continued to donate their widow’s mite to the actress who has over the years brought joy to their television screens.
