Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi central) has denied reports that she apologized to the Senate following her suspension on March 6. She is currently facing a recall vote at her constituency.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended for “gross misconduct” after a dispute with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over seat arrangements, and she had previously accused Akpabio of sexual harassment.
In a statement on Monday, Akpoti-Uduaghan said she’s facing “coordinated efforts to suppress her voice” within the National Assembly. She alleged that certain individuals are spreading false narratives to manipulate public perception, but she vowed not to be intimidated.
Akpoti-Uduaghan urged the public to disregard reports of her apology, stating that any official statement from her would come through her verified channels.
She reaffirmed her commitment to truth, justice, and the people she represents, emphasizing that this issue is not just about her, but about the integrity of Nigeria’s democracy.
