Family and friends of late Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), have received the remains of the former Ondo State Governor, who died at age 67, on December 27, after a pro-longed battle with cancer.
Present at the airport to receive the late governor’s remains as it arrived Nigeria from Germany on Friday were Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the decessed widow; his children; and siblings led by Prof. Wole Akeredolu, the deceased immediate younger brother.
Also present to receive the body were Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Governor, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Tayo Ayinde; Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun State Governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government Mr. Tokunbo Talabi; and representative of Osun State Governor, Senator Demola Adeleke.
Engr. Ade Adetimehin, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State; Hon. Gboyega Adefarati, a member of the House of Representatives, and some members of the Ondo State Executive Council, led by Princess Oladunni Odu, the Secretary to the State Government were also present at the airport to receive the body of the former Governor.
A facebook post by Mr Richard Olatunde, the former Chief Press Secretary to the late governor, reveals that the governor’s remains have been deposited at the morgue until his final burial.
Olatunde also stated that the details of the burial arrangements will be announced by the family at a later date.
