The (INEC) has officially released the timetable for Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
According to the schedule, the Presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on February 20, 2027, while the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections are slated for March 6, 2027.

The Commission had earlier disclosed on February 4 that it had concluded work on the election timetable and schedule of activities, despite delays in the passage of the amended Electoral Act currently before the . INEC noted that while its submissions had been made to lawmakers, some aspects of the timetable could be affected depending on when the amendment is eventually passed.
INEC also recalled that under the leadership of former Chairman, Prof. , the Commission had fixed general election dates several decades ahead as part of efforts to reduce voter anxiety and minimise logistical challenges for electoral stakeholders.
